Always know your nature - therein lies the path to true happiness. Or at least true slightly-less-frazzledness. I think.

For example, I'm a baker by nature. It's not one of the natures you'll find listed in your standard gaming books, but it's who and what I am - I regain willpower and personal strength in the kitchen. One pan of cranberry-apple crisp prepped for tomorrow and ready to bake, and the world is a much nicer and friendlier place and I am much more at peace with myself. It's amazing how much healing I get from brown sugar and butter.

It's snowing now, but hopefully not enough to interfere too severely with my sweetie's drive down. And tomorrow there will be more baking, and eating, and time spent with friends and loved ones. It'll be good.

I have so many things to be thankful for, and it's something I'm aware of even when I'm at my most stressed and unsteady - but that's a post for a different day. In the meantime, though, there is one thank-you I want to make as loud and public as possible.

To everyone who has taken the time to write to me, or email me, or call me, or chat online with me, or post a reply here in my journal while I've been away from home, a thousand thanks for making this trip smoother and easier and happier for me. West Virginia is fun and beautiful and I'm gld to be doing this, but I miss my home and my friends and my slightly-more-hectic-than-is-wise social life, and every point of contact with the outside world is a reminder that I do have friends that are thinking about me in my absense - and it means the world to me.

Thank you.....

You are dearly loved, always. I am so glad your love will be with you for a little while, anyway.

An obvious follow-on. If we put "baker" within a catagory on a casting sheet, what other archetypes should we have there?

I'm so glad you're getting the chance to be back together again, if only for a while. It's been wonderful to read all you've written about living in such a different environment, and also to know you've been there with [livejournal.com profile] spiritdance. Friends++ :)

Thank you!

I had tried to email you, by the way, about a possible gift for the local baron and baroness here, but I didn't get the notice that my email to you had bounced until too late - sorry!

As things turned out, though, there was no court at the second event and the people in question weren't there. I'm hoping to come back and visit in the spring, though, which would give plenty of time for planning....

Have you read any of the comic book Finder? It's just gone on-line, and that line reminded me of this sequence :-)
