Home from Hawaii

I'm home from Hawaii, just in case y'all were wondering when I'd return. My sweetie and I just got in a few hours ago, and we're currently in the process of settling back in, unpacking, and reacquainting ourselves with our cats, our neighborhood, and life outside a tropical heaven.

Hawaii was beautiful, and amazing, and once I've re-established some sort of life routine, I promise more detailed updates - for now, I'll just say that I had a blissful time and I need to get back there soon, possibly forever. Or at least on a fairly frequent basis.

I did not, however, have internet access while I was there. The hotel charged way too much, and to be completely honest, given the choice between going online and strolling along Waikiki beach, the internet didn't stand a chance.

So, if you posted anything you really feel I need to read, let me know. Meanwhile, I'm heading back to work tomorrow, armed with a bunch of spiffy new tips and tricks from the conference, almost no sunburn, and a heck of a lot of phenomenal memories.....

How was the conference? I'd about given up on AVMA, but if it has improved, I need a new conference for next year (as ICE will not be happening, and NAVC is the same weekend as Arisia). Drop me a line.

The conference was really good - there was a wide variety of topics, and while the stuff on exotics was pretty sparse, the companion animal track was impressive. Good speakers, almost all clinically relevant, and the ones that weren't immediately applicable still gave me a better understanding of the science behind the medicine.

I liked it - better than AAHA, not quite as good as NAVC.

I think the only relevant thing posted by me was that msmemory and I are getting rid of our mammoth collection of recorded-off-the-air videotapes, and I'm seeking takers for all the various TV series. About half of them have been claimed, but many haven't; check my recent postings for the full list, if you're interested.
