Thanks to everyone for your advice on the jewelry-and-formalwear question - I wound up having an extremely talented and helpful friend put together a necklace for me on the spot, and I think it worked quite nicely - definitely better than a bare neck would have been. Anyway, since y'all helped me figure the ensemble out, I thought you deserved to see what it looked like....

Wow! Gorgeous! <3 (: (You are so skinny. I am so jealous. (; )

Don't be jealous - I'm learning that it has its downsides. I'm cold *all the time.* And it's almost impossible for me to shop in regular stores; they don't carry my size.

I think the world caters to the mythical medium-sized woman. I also think that there are perhaps three women in the world who are perfectly happy with their appearance. I'd love to be one of them.... :/

I'm not super-jealous. Just wish my stomach looked as nice as that. (; I actually have a hard time finding clothes, too. Size 12 Petite? Not too many of those. /:

I have noticed being colder too since I lost about 25 pounds over a couple of years. (: I'm not quite as thin as I was in college, but it's better than where I was.

I am mostly OK with my appearance but would like to eliminate a little of my belly fat. Ya know. (:

Try searching in stores that caters to Asian women?

wow. very very impressive.

but, the beadworker in me is curious - what's the necklace made of?

Date: 2007-02-04 10:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladysprite.livejournal.com
It's a strand of tiny pearl beads with a strand of very thin silver chain wrapped around it, all tied on with the ends woven in. :)

Hee. I am now considering making a dress of that basic design for myself. That's *cool*!

I've always wanted a dress with that cut, but I've never been brave enough to buy one that went *quite* that low in back before. Now that I have, though, I love it... :)

DAMN! You look amazing! Not that you aren't normally gorgeous, but holy CRAP that whole ensemble looks incredible on you!

And I am gonna lust after that dress now...

*blush* Thank you....

And the dress is from Lord & Taylor, which surprised the heck out of me. I always thought of them as the place where my grandmother shopped - I had no idea they had such gorgeous gowns.

The first picture looks good. The second picture looks *great*! I think it's the facial expression that makes the most difference.

Indeed.

But then, I got to see it in person, and that trumps any picture ever taken, because I don't think she stopped smiling all evening.

Thanks. It's really hard for me to relax when I'm having my picture taken, which is why there are almost no pictures of me smiling. The second one only worked because Arnis surprised me and had the camera ready before I realized it...

Well, the pictures are set so that everyone on her friends list should be able to see them. MOst folks n her list apparently can - I don't know why you cannot.

I've entered an LJ support request, but it might help to know what browser you're using...

firefox 2.0 didn't work with ie 7 or ie 6 either

clearly i can see the protected entry so it isn't that i am not on teh list. how odd...

Well, permission to see the images is set on the images, separately from whether you can see the post that contains them.

My leading theory is that there's a bug in the scrapbook, possibly relating to which server you're on. Maybe some bits of information are not being properly transferred between some servers.

hmm... possible. if i copy and paste teh address after goignto my scrapbook and logging in separatly i can see them. so i would gess that logged-in status isn't beign passed. sigh

Weird - you and about half a dozen other people can't see them, and I can't figure out why. I've tried just about every fix I can think of (or, more specifically, my much-smarter husband has), and none of them have worked. I've emailed LJ-support, to see if they can figure it out.

Permission granted?

Home connection (Firefox), no permission to see pics.
Work connection (Explorer), exquisite pics.
There may be other factors, I don't know.

Those pictures came out really nicely! The back shot's particularly good; in it, you're not only beautiful, but warm. (Plus your back does all sorts of cool curvy-line stuff - it's neat from a visual composition POV, too. :)

Slender, elegant, graceful, gorgeous - you look stunning!

(At least when you smile, when you don't you look beautiful & slightly scary in a headteacher-about-to-tell-pupil-off way... ;)
