Small Blessings

I've felt pretty darn unlucky lately. Injuries just not getting better, stumbling blocks in the paths of all the progress I want to make, failure on the househunting front, kicked in the butt by taxes, and generally not-quite-failing, but not succeeding particularly well in anything I try to do.

I realized today where all of my luck has gone - apparently, it was being channeled into one big family luck-pool. This morning, my brother-in-law overslept and didn't make it in to work, at his job at Virginia Tech.

This is the closest I've ever come to having a family member involved in a major, terrifying disaster. And, all things considered, suddenly my unluck doesn't seem quite so significant....

*hug* I know what you mean. When the sniper shootings were happening in Northern Virginia, I was worried about my folks; one of them happened at a Home Depot that they frequently shop out!

Yep, little bits of bad luck definitely made up for them being okay.
