Reality Interlude

Somehow, in the middle of my wacky and colorful life of puppies, roleplaying, SCA events, dance classes of questionable morality, and general reality-avoidance, I managed to wind up committed to what should have been a rather humdrum, down-to-earth family event today - my great-aunt's 90th birthday party.
I didn't mind going, though. I love my great-aunt; I used to spend summers visiting her and her late husband at their dairy farm when I was little, and I don't see her as often as I'd like. The last time I saw her was at my wedding, and that wasn't exactly mellow conversation time for me. Especially now that she's getting to be fairly old, I thought it might be nice to spend a little time chatting with her in a slightly more low-key environment.
I didn't get much of a chance to talk to her, though. She wound up spending most of the party on the dance floor with her new boyfriend.
I so want to be her when I grow up.
