In an effort to ignore the impingement of reality and upcoming changes in my life, I have thrown myself into crafting with an alarming level of energy. In the past week, I've taken up decoupage, taught myself the basics of labanotation, and started serious work on a costuming project that has been stuck in the back of my head for at least a couple of years.

I've also started catching up on email, finally bought new jeans for the fist time in human memory, and scheduled the upcoming weeks within an inch of my life.

I've got a lovely new decorated box for my BPAL bottles, and a rough draft of my possible future tattoo, but when I pause the world is still out there, work is still complicated, home-buying is still moving forward, and my mind is still racing.

I should probably write about the details, and I promise I will as soon as I calm down about them enough to comfortably keep them in the front of my mind for more than a few minutes, but in the meantime I'm starting to run out of distractions....

Damn! Okay, I give in -- you are the queen of finding productive distractions. I used to think I was good, but you beat me by a mile!

Awesome that you at least get stuff done instead of just spending money!

Good luck with whichever stage of the home-hunt you're at, looking forward to hearing details...

Good to know you are staying productively busy. I am now working on my very first hank of real wool on a knitting project, and it is lovely. I just hope the project turns out well too, the yarn is so beautiful.

I'm really excited about it, now. I'm going to have to finagle a couple of details to make it more art-y, but I'm already getting impatient. :)

It's going to be hard to stick to my self-imposed waiting time...

"Why don't you put down the gun and take a look at this hand-held monkey? Does it not have clever little forepaws? It eats gum and sap!"

Pygmy marmosets, useful for distracting anyone from anything :)

...I am bemused and a bit startled, as sometime in the past month or two, I was researching both decoupage and labanotation.

(Cool that you're actually doing stuff with 'em, though; I just peered at 'em and moved on.)

You found a labanotation resource? Wonderful!

I think your tattoo idea is one of the coolest I've ever heard. :)
