Little Pieces of Sunshine

I have my car back. My sweet, precious, blessed little car, who has done so much for me, who I thought was dead, has finally returned to me none the worse for wear. Bless the people at the Saturn dealership and their attached body shop, because I could have sworn that there was a hole right through the passenger door, and that she couldn't move, and that I would never see her again. The snazzy red rental car was shiny and new and fun to drive, but I'll never love anything quite like I love *my* car. She's comfortable and lovely and I know her inside and out and she's just... mine.

Work may be slow at the moment, but things are at least filling up for next year. And a clinic I worked at once almost a year ago just specifically requested me to cover for two weeks in February - it seems I made a good impression, or something. And since it's a sweet little clinic in a nice area that practices really good medicine, I'm more than happy to oblige.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is re-releasing Snake Charmer. This is the scent that was made for me. Something about it just works with my body chemistry, to the point that when I wear it I've been accused of distracting people, conversations, and entire scenes in a LARP by smelling too good. I have been hoarding my one bottle, doling it out one precious drop at a time, for special occasions only, lamenting the fact that it was finite. Now all I need to do is convince myself that one more bottle will be enough....

A very nice lady at the grocery yesterday gave me a $5 coupon, just because. She couldn't use it for her purchase, so he handed it off to me. Small kindnesses like that just make my day.

I have a friend coming over to spend the day crafting, and homemade peanut butter cookies, and yoga class tonight.

All is good.....

Perhaps I shouldn't encourage, but I'd definitely get a second bottle or even more if this is a limited-edition item that might at some point go back away, never to be seen again. With consideration to budget and exactly how long this stuff is likely to keep, of course.

(But then I have a notorious and possibly not-quite-sane habit of deciding I like something, usually clothing or shoes, and hoarding as much of it as I can reasonably afford, so that I'm not traumatized when they inevitably stop making it later...)

Congrats on getting the car back. (I know how I felt when my baby was totaled back in January. I like the new one, but I will probably never love it as much.)
