I Have No Idea....

I love digging out my coats after having not worn them for a while. There's the comfort and home-ness of putting on a favorite coat and snuggling up into its fleecy embrace, there's the respite from the cold... and there's always the fun of putting my hands into the pockets and finding out what's in there.
I don't tend to store huge amounts of stuff in my coat pockets, but there's always something. And it's usually something that I forgot, that stirs up happy memories of last fall or winter, and things I've done and adventures I've had. A favorite pair of gloves that I thought I had lost, a pendant that fell off a necklace that I had given up on finding, ticket stubs from a movie that I went to see with a friend, a card with a phone number for someone I met but never managed to follow up with.
And sometimes there's something random in there, and I have to dig around in my memory for a while before I remember, like the strawberry Starburst given to me by a friend's son that I stuffed in there to avoid eating, and never remembered to throw away.
But what I found in my pocket today doesn't fall into any of those categories. I have been racking my brain since I stuck my hands into my pockets when I went out to run errands at lunchtime today, and I still have absolutely no idea of why this was in my pocket, how it got there, or where it came from. I am at an utter loss.
And so I open it to you, O Brilliant And True Readers - give me your best answers:
How and why *did* a half-empty sparkly blue package of Satin Glide dental floss get into the pocket of my autumn jacket?

Date: 2010-04-29 12:30 am (UTC)Several Q-tips, seeing what happened to their siblings and knowing the same was in store for them, tried to come with him. Tragically, all of them perished in the escape effort when they jumped out the window that rainy night in October.
Take good care of him. He's been through a lot.
