What is it about ice cream bars that, when you eat one, makes you (and by 'you' I mean 'me') revert to five years old? No matter how hard I try to be delicate and ladylike, I always wind up slurping and laughing and with my hands covered in melted chocolate and ice cream residue, looking like a small child set free in a candy store....

In related news, it is impossible to mindfully eat a Klondike bar. Any attempt to wallow in the deliciousness and prolong the enjoyment are ultimately foiled by the beautifully transient nature of the frozen chocolate coating and the sticky melting ice cream as it slips (literally) between your fingers en route to your mouth.

Trust me on this....

I usually eat Klondike bars with a bowl and spoon. Then, of course, to fully enjoy the childlike experience, I feel obliged to pour the bowl over my head.
