Her Triumphant Return

Apologies for the silence here over the past week;
umbran and I spent it floating around in the Caribbean.
We are home now, slightly sunburned and tired, but generally much better off for the experience, and I learned several things.
1) Never again plan a Caribbean cruise in the middle of hurricane season. (Our ship managed to redirect itself such that we dodged the worst of the weather, but it meant that instead of going hiking through Mayan ruins we wound up being harassed by hair braiders in Montego Bay.)
2) I am apparently irresistibly attractive to random wildlife, having been groped, stroked, and poked by stingrays, crabs, and flamingos over the course of our four days on land.
3) Sweetbreads taste much better than I thought they would.
4) Virgin pina coladas are, functionally speaking, coconut milkshakes. This is an awesome and life-changing discovery.
5) It is, in fact, possible for me to relax, given enough forced downtime, a hammock, and a good enough book.
More details, and maybe even pictures, will be forthcoming. Right now, though, it is time to get unpacked, reacquainted with my cats, and ready for work tomorrow....
