Wasn't Expecting That....

After having access to it and not being aware of it for probably close to a decade, I have finally discovered OnDemand TV, and for the past week or so I've been playing around with it - mostly because I've gotten tired of the handful of workout DVDs I have, and I've gone through most of my library's collection as well.
Also, at the moment, I'm still dealing with a crazily strained and painful shoulder and neck, so my standard cardio/weight routine isn't quite the wisest thing for me to put my body through. But I don't want to give up on activity completely, so I've been slowly exploring their collection of yoga and Pilates workouts.
Today, just out of curiosity, I decided to take a peek at what they had in their "dance" category. And I found "Urban Striptease Aerobics." And it was an hour long, instead of most of their little 10-20 minute things. And it looked utterly, mockably ridiculous. And I figured it couldn't be that hard, and it was free, and I could use a laugh.
And, much to my surprise, it was a total blast. It was heaps better than most of the other dance workouts I've tried, it involved actual dancing, it didn't take itself too seriously, and it was honestly fun. And a much better leg workout than I had anticipated, to be completely honest.
This is definitely going on my list of 'Things That Really Shouldn't Be This Much Fun (But Totally Are),' somewhere in between Web Pages Devoted To Schadenfreude, Abba, and Saying The Word 'Slanket.'
In other news, the RMV is the target of all my rage and hatred today, for making me go in and retake my driver's license photo while I have a giant half-healed cat scratch along my nose and an incipient black eye. (Okay, the black eye is incipient and mild enough that only I can actually tell it's there, but I know, and I can't not see it, damnit!)

Date: 2011-01-07 05:56 pm (UTC)I've been considering taking as many of the Babydolls' "Bump and Grind" fitness classes as I can get to, but I think travel is going to get in the way of all of them. If only it weren't January.
