Benefits of the Position

There are a pair of stray kittens at the office I'm working at today, waiting to be old enough to go to their new homes.
They have spent the past hour valiantly slaying the pull-tag on the zipper from my purse and tripping over their own tails. Right now, they are sitting in the supply closet. One of them has climbed onto the third tier of a set of slatted shelves, and is sleepily batting down at his brother, who is on the second shelf, half-hidden inside a box of old computer printouts.
I have a book in front of me, but I don't think I've read five pages in the past half-hour - I've been too busy watching them. Their mama-cat is asleep in the doorway to the closet, and the office cat (an ancient, creaky-voiced white lich of a beast that will probably outlive me) has just jumped onto my lap.
I have the best job in the world....

Date: 2011-01-28 08:49 pm (UTC)I'm working from home at the moment, where three adult cats are sleeping on top of a very large flowchart. Maybe they're helping me avoid looking at the parts of this process I don't want to see?
Out of curiosity, are there privacy regulations in veterinary medicine, or can we beg for pictures of the cuteness?
