Progress

I have been trying to fight a serious case of grumpy/miserable/blue for the past few days, with varying success. It'd be easier to fend this off if I had any idea where it was coming from, but I can't put my finger on any particular trigger, so I've just had to flail at it from any angle that I could think of.

But.

Whatever else might be going on, however frustrating the world may be, however cold and bleak it is...

For the past two days it has been sunny outside when I left to go to work, and sunny outside when I left work to come home. And my commute today was short enough that it was even still sunny when I got home. The sky is starting to turn pink and gray outside as I type this, but it's still progress. I can see the sun again, and I have real and believable proof that time is passing, the days are getting longer, and someday - blessed someday - I will be able to feel my fingers again, and walk out my front door instead of having it blocked by two-foot-high snowdrifts, and that outside will be inviting instead of dreadful.....

Sometimes I wonder if it's something in the atmosphere, the pressure or something. Almost everybody I know including myself has been feeling the same way the past couple of days. HUGS....

Soon - sooner than you think - we will be strolling through Harvard Square, drinking iced chocolates and wondering when it got so warm out.

On a day like today, when it's bright and sunny, I can start to believe that... :)
