After three or four days of progressively worsening dizzy spells, finally segueing into constant wobbliness and nausea, I bit the bullet and went to the emergency room last night. The doctor there eyed me skeptically, asked me several progressively more detailed questions, ran a bunch of inconclusive tests, and ultimately diagnosed me with Inner Ear Badness. Not in those words exactly, but that sums it up.

It's not an infection - that would be too easy, and far too cureable. This is apparently just some nasty mojo left over from a cold he insists I had but I don't remember living through. Apparently I'm going to spend the next two or three weeks in a world that is constantly doing slow barrel rolls to the left, and there's not much cure beyond patience.

I've got some anti-vertigo medication, that works fairly well as long as I can stay awake after taking it, and strict orders not to drive, operate heavy machinery, or make any sudden movements. This should make work fairly interesting..... Either way, this also means no dancing for me, possibly no dance practice at all, and very little journalling - staring at the screen tends to make things worse, and my typing is more creative than functional right now. I'll see y'all when the world starts standing still again....

I am just now coming out of that very experience!!
They put me on anti-biotics and, of course, the Anti-vert and anti-nausea stuff too. No fun at all. It can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. In my case- some 2+ weeks. It is down to about 15% now... from where I started, that is pretty damned good.

Good luck!!!
